Greetings! Thank you for taking the courageous step to seek counseling for yourself, your partner, or a loved one. You have come to the right place.
My approach to working with you is gentle, non-judgmental, compassionate, and emotional and physical safety are my priority. I implement clinical interventions uniquely catered to your needs and outcome treatment goals.
After initial screening, intake, and assessing for “good fit” necessary for us to establish the foundation of our client-therapist relationship, then I will develop a client-centered, step-by-step treatment plan that will be based on your current presenting issues, safety and immediate needs, current baseline and level of readiness for psychotherapy treatment.
As a clinician, I believe in the power of the human potential to heal from trauma, loss, pain, and suffering in their lifetime. Many times, when we have experienced trauma, pain, loss, and suffering either from childhood or throughout adulthood we become split and/or fragmented from Self, your true inner nature, as a way to adapt and survive/cope with life. Furthermore, combination of environmental and biological factors can influence conceptualization of the self and create sometimes false narratives or stories we say about ourselves, such as “I am not a good person”, “I am not wanted or pretty enough”, “I am not strong or smart enough”, “I am a failure, and never going to succeed”, or “No one will love me, as I am not worthy of love”.
In turn, I believe that through transpersonal psychology and mindfulness concepts and practices, and, in particular interconnection between all aspects of the human condition, parts of self, and interrelationships with others, such as with people, environment, nature, world, etc, are powerful and effective means in which to help mend the disconnections from oneself and reconnect with multi-faceted aspects of being human. These aspects include: Mind (i.e. cognitive, perception); Body (i.e. somatic awareness, proprioception, and attunement to self and other); and Spirit (i.e. the soul, or inner resonance of what makes one a unique human and not like any other being on Earth, and is a channel that helps connect oneself to deeper shifts within and to connect outside oneself via spirituality or religion, or universality of whatever greater-then-self concepts one may hold, to God, Goddess, Nature, Universe, Cosmos). It is important to note, one can be atheist or agnostic and do not need to believe in a higher order or have a spiritual practice to be able to connect with the multi-faceted parts of being human. I have worked with many clients in the past who were agnostic, atheist, or did not believe in anything beyond what he/she could see and still have successful holistic treatment outcomes.
Theoretically, by connecting with self and intentionally evaluating, shifting, practicing, and integrating the different layers of healing, gently letting go of old habits and behaviors, such as ways of thinking, guilt, shame, and false narratives, may allow for the possibility of powerful shifts and growth, and new energy and revitalization are possible.
Although certain mental health disorders, past traumatic experiences, grief/loss, and existential crisis cannot be eliminated entirely, my ultimate goals for your mental health treatment are: Stabilization, symptom management, and well-being. Hence, with the holistic practices of mindfully balancing mind-body-spirit and connection with self and with others in healthy ways may lead to the possibility to move from false narratives and fear-based to new authentic beliefs in self, self-empowerment, and intentionally-based living. In addition, it is possible to have recovery and healing and with time develop new hope, new life focus, new life purpose, vocation, and sense of life mastery.
